Описание: Deosai National Park is an alpine plateau of exceptional beauty and ecological value located in the western massif of the Himalayas, east of Nanga Parbat Peak and in close proximity to the Central Karakoram Range at the altitude of an average 13500 ft above the sea level.

Deosai hosts a rich variety of animal species including Himalayan Brown Bear, Tibetan wolf, Himalayan ibex, Tibetan red fox and Golden marmots. The Himalayan brown bear is a critically endangered species in some of its range and the key-stone species of Deosai National Park.

The waters of Deosai plateau are home to the local snow trout which reach enormous size. The park lies within the core of western Himalaya bird area and is important as a resting place and breeding ground of residential and migratory birds of international importance. In the Spring season it is covered by sweeps of wildflowers and a wide variety of rare butterflies too.


Driving through the lush green meadows with variety of flowers you will see Golden Marmots around the driving track. While to watch the biggest mammals of the area Himalayan Brown Beer and others you need to take Park’s Ranger along to go find them. Sometimes you do find them sometimes you do not, but experiencing the magical plains on foot is a life time experience. Watching a big animal in its habitat is a feeling which connects you to the nature, one on one! If done in the spirit of tuning to nature it can become a life changing understanding of you and nature.
