“Next Album: ‘Blood On Chef Apron’”
“‘It reminded me of being on the beach somewhere, just that elegant lifestyle in Miami. I pictured myself in the portrait where I had on Cuban hats, the Kangols. It just made me tell a visual story about guys going for the next level in their careers and they’re doing this type of shit now, you know. I was saying some fly shit that really was telling the story of [a] real strong businessman, almost like an Al Capone type of story.”

Immobilarity imo is an underrated album and Raekwon overall one if the greatest most consistant mcs who ever lived. Even though it was weaker than Cuban Linx, a contender for GOAT album, it still was an under appreciated half a gem; which dropped as rae was simultaneously bogarting the game with numerous underground mixtape and major label feature appearances for every name in the industry that you could literally make a double disk for the entire era that would rival most classics.
Still the album released in stores lacked the traditional wu sound for a scaled back synth sound that was prevalent at the time (98/99) leaving behind the samples to keep the budget down. Wu and rap fans in general complained about the release and seems people never got over the initial reactions. Due to the album being seen as lackluster, people seem to forget Raekwon was at his absolute peak as an MC at the moment.
I decided to blend the simple synth style of the era with a more sample focused “cuban linxy” vibe, to meet somewhere in the middle while still having a refined second album feel of a 98/99/00 era project.
Rae said he originally saw the album as being in like the quote above, a scarface like success themed, refined second album. I feel like the beats of the original half way captured that vibe, tho still a little dry; while missing the cuban linx sound completely.
So I tried to give it a scarface ost/miami esque “porno synth” sound, mixing samples and synths to try to flesh out the vibe completely. I wasnt aiming for rehashing Cuban, more what a big second album produced by the industry would have sounded like; tailored to rae/the theme. All the movie samples/ost work used on cuban are also added here to help bring some type of consistency album to album.
Anyway, Raekwon is one of the most consistently great mcs who ever lived and always wanted to produce for him so heres my version of said album, sporting its original title.
If you enjoy, please like/sub so others get to see it and maybe share with a friend. Everything & Nothing is just my friends and I making beats for the love of the game. We appreciate all kind words/support.
