create primitive
tweak verts
edge loop split
split polygon tool
extrude
delete face/edge
combine
extract
append to polygon tool
My process is to rough out the whole object first as quickly as possible. Then refine and add detail. This is gestalt art theory or "unified whole" if you're into that sort of thing... basically build the whole first, then detail. Always try to view art as a whole rather than details that don't work together.
