Královské Vinohrady (Royal Vineyards) is a cadastral district in Prague. It is so named because it was once covered in vineyards dating from the 14th century. Vinohrady lies in the municipal and administrative districts of Prague 2 (west part), Prague 3 (north-east part), Prague 10 (south-east part), and minor parts of Prague 1 (Prague State Opera and Federal Assembly of Czechoslovakia) and Prague 4 (near Nusle). Between 1788 and 1867, it was called Viničné Hory (Vineyard Mountains). From 1867 to 1968, it was called Královské Vinohrady ("Royal Vineyards"). In 1875, Královské Vinohrady was divided into two parts, Královské Vinohrady I and Královské Vinohrady II. Part I was renamed Žižkov and Part II, Královské Vinohrady, in 1877. In 1922, Královské Vinohrady was incorporated into Prague as District XII. In 1949, the western part was conjoined with Prague 2, and the eastern part remained a separate district of Prague 12. In 1960, when the Prague division was reduced from 16 to 10 administrative districts, the northern part of Prague 12 was merged with Žižkov into Prague 3, and the southern part was merged with Prague 10. Local patriots say that the real reason was that Královské Vinohrady was known as a "bourgeois" district and thus politically unreliable for the then-ruling Communist Party of Czechoslovakia.

Havlíček Gardens, also known as Grébovka, is a city park in the southern part of the Vinohrady district. Designed in the Italian Renaissance style, it is bordered by the Botič stream, which separates it from the Vršovice and Nusle districts. The park's nickname, Grébovka, is named after its founder, Moritz Gröbe, who purchased the land in 1870 when it was in deplorable condition. Over the next seventeen years, he transformed the area into a landscaped park featuring more than 120 varieties of exotic trees and plants. During this transformation, he added an artificial stalactite cave, a neo-Renaissance villa, the Pavilion, and the Viniční Altán (Vineyard Gazebo).
Today, Havlíček Gardens covers 11 hectares, including a historic vineyard established initially in the 14th century by Charles IV. It is a beloved place where locals come to relax and take walks, and it regularly hosts grape-harvest festivals.
