God builds us up spiritually from the inside out through our faith - and through these gates God's grace, mercy, power and blessings can reach us. But if we're not careful, we can leave those gates unguarded, thus allowing the wrong things to enter into our spirits; we can easily allow the bad to come in and corrupt us.
