Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says Opposition leader Peter Dutton’s upcoming nuclear announcement is a “historic moment”.
The shadow cabinet met Tuesday night to discuss their nuclear policy, which does not include expanded climate and emissions targets.
“This is a historic moment coming in Australian politics,” Mr Clennell told Sky News Australia.
“Here in about an hour and a half’s time or less we are going to see an announcement, for the first time in Australian history, a party has taken a policy to put nuclear power stations in Australia to an election.
“This is huge; this is going to be the biggest climate election we’ve ever had, and we have had some.”
