On Friday 26th August 1983, Neil Fogarty from Magenta Crescent in Santry went for a night out that ended up in Jets Nightclub at the Boot Inn on the Western side of Dublin Airport beside the Iona hangar.
As Neil couldn't get a taxi home, he set off walking, took a tumble and, with tiredness overtaking him, climbed into a "big box" to rest ... and was discovered in London Heathrow Airport.
In this episode, which is Part 1 of 2, Neil's sister Fiona talks us through events that night and when the Guards called to the front door on that Saturday morning. Retired Aer Lingus pilot, Captain Pat Campbell gives us an eye-witness account of how events unfolded in Heathrow.
