This artwork portrays the rare and iconic Jocotoco Antpitta (Grallaria ridgelyi), one of Ecuador’s most remarkable birds, discovered only in 1997 in the cloud forests of the Podocarpus region.
Painted by Pablo Andrade, this hyperrealistic oil illustration celebrates the beauty and uniqueness of Loja’s avifauna.
The original painting is part of a permanent exhibition at the Casona Cultural of the Municipality of Loja, Ecuador.
