تعارف سورة النبا

یہ سورت ابتدائی مکی دور میں نازل ہوئی ہے اور بسم اللہ سمیت اس کی اکتالیس آیات ہیں۔
 اس سے پہلے سورۃ المرسلات میں ایک بنیادی سوال کفار کی طرف سے یہ اٹھایا گیا تھا کہ یومُ الفصل کب آئے گا جو کھرے کھوٹے میں تمیز کردے گا۔ سورۃالنبأ میں اس کے جواب میں یہ نَبَأِ عظیم دی جارہی ہے کہ وہ یومُ الفصل آچکا۔ اسی سورت میں فرمایا کہ یومُ الفصل ایک نہ ٹلنے والا قطعی وعدہ تھا جو وقت مقررہ پر ضرور پورا ہونا تھا۔ 

پھر یومُ الفصل کی مختلف صورتیں اس عظیم سورت میں بیان ہوئی ہیں۔ سب سے پہلے تو اللہ تعالیٰ کے اس نظام کا ذکر دہرایا گیا ہے جو آسمان سے پانی برساتا اور زمین سے غذا نکالتا ہے۔ پھر متوجہ کیا گیا ہے کہ اس سے بنی نوع انسان فائدہ نہیں اٹھاتے اور یہ نہیں سوچتے کہ اصل آسمانی پانی تو روحانی ہدایت کا پانی ہے۔ اس انکار کے نتیجہ میں ان پر جو آفات ٹوٹتی ہیں یا ٹوٹیں گی ان کا اس سورت میں ذکر ملتا ہے۔ 

اس سورت کے آخر پر ایک بہت بڑا انتباہ فرمایا گیا ہے کہ اگر انسان نے اسی طرح غافلانہ حالت میں زندگی گزار دی تو انجام کار وہ بڑے درد سے اس حسرت کا اظہار کرے گا کہ کاش میں اس سے پہلے ہی مٹی ہوجاتا اور مٹی سے انسان کی صورت میں اٹھایا نہ جاتا۔

General Remarks
This Surah is entitled An-Naba’ (news of tremendous import or great event), because it deals with a subject of exceptional importance, i.e. certainty of the Resurrection, predominance of the Quran over all other revealed Scriptures, and of Islam over other faiths. The Day of Decision, i.e. the day when this Quranic claim will become an established fact, is mentioned twice in the preceding Surah and is repeated in the present Surah. The Surah, according to Muslim scholarly opinion, was revealed very early in the Holy Prophet’s ministry at Mecca. Nöldeke agrees with this opinion.
The Surah opens with an enumeration of great Divine gifts upon man, and directs his attention to the implied suggestion that man has been placed upon this earth to serve a certain object and that his life here is the seedbed of an eternal future and will be followed by a Day of Reckoning. The Surahthen gives a brief but awe-inspiring picture of that Day, and a graphic description of the heavenly blessings that await the righteous and of the punishment which will be meted out to the rejecters of truth, in this and in the next life.
