Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut Beta for the GameCube was released by drx on February 23, 2008. It's a direct port of the Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure with debugging features enabled with a few changes done for the GameCube release. The date the disc image was created on is 2002/04/10.

This version of the game is very early in development, and so it uses a lot of assets from the original Dreamcast release. Some levels have their DX 'upgrades', but only the main playable characters have their updated character models. Tikal, Eggman, etc. use their Dreamcast models, (You can tell by the hands not having individual fingers). Some of the cutscenes play out of sync or lag ( I played on emulator, so maybe it's different on console?)
Lots of textures and effects are unfinished and buggy, so I hope you may find enjoyment of this earlier build and spot the differences between the two!

NOTICE: The game crash two times for me after certain cutscenes:
Knuckles' Opening Cutscene (during and after it ended)
Gamma kidnaps Froggy.
I had to use the debug features of this beta to skip these cutscenes, so you may notice that characters have lost their upgrades and certain areas have been locked backed up. I needed to restart my progress after the Knuckles cutscene crash, so that is why. During the Super Sonic Story, I used the Debug Menu to unlock the side of Angel Island and Door leading to the Red Mountain and Master Emerald shrine.
