During the ‘70s, in the basement of my parent’s house, my father built a bar and installed a linoleum dance floor.
In those days, my family had basement parties. Friends and relatives would dress up, come to the house, drink, dance and smoke cigarettes.
Hi-Fi stereo speakers in stylish cabinets and a Sony turntable with hypnotic tuning calibration lights, played my dad’s record collection.
Disco music was at the apex of every party. Even to my young ears, the music sounded groovy, glamorous and glorious.
This recording is dedicated to my father, Henning Sørensen and to all of the basement parties of the past, present and future!
