The comparison between the Brainworx/Plugin Alliance Amek 200 Mastering Equalizer vs the hardware EQ GML 8200 is here to show the difference between both, not the exactitude of the emulation. Difference in calibration induced different EQ values, so I used Waves Q-Clone to match the curves and focus on the sound of the EQ. In this video, I'll show you also WHAT and HOW to listen to specific sound to spot their differences (the difference between software and hardware for example) : DESCRIPTION OF THE VIDEO :
00:08 : Intro, explanations.
01:58 : On a bass
04:56 : Focusing on their transients and engaging THD on Amek 200.
06:43 : On a full mix (subtler moves).
08:10 : Comparing very short loop, to compare depth and sounds placement.
13:05 : On a Male lead vocal.
14:04 : Focusing on transients.
15:03 : Focusing on the low-end "depth".
17:52 : Trying out the Amek added filters.
20:00 : Conclusion.
21:00 : My opinion on the Amek vs GML.
21:55 : Little useless rant on an pointless argument.
Gear Used :
Pro Tools 12.6.1 (Avid sucks).
Plugin Alliance/Brainworx Amek 200 Mastering Equalizer plugin.
GML 8200 outboard Mastering Equalizer.
AKM Converters.
Neutrik connections.
