After midnight, India declared itself a republic, and the power of the Constitution granted every citizen rights and dignity. Today, we take you back to the story of that historic night, when the destiny of the nation changed between January 25th and 26th. Under the leadership of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the country's freedom fighter and the architect of the Constitution, the Constituent Assembly worked tirelessly for years. After 2 years, 11 months, and 18 days of hard work, the Constitution was ready. It enshrined the rights and duties of every citizen and laid the foundation of democracy.
