The 7th Pay Commission was implemented in 2016. Now, a new structure is expected to be implemented in 2026. Last year, the government announced the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. The process progressed in November. The Commission's website was launched in February 2026, and suggestions were sought from employees on 18 key questions. This means the process is underway.
