***DESCRIPTION***:
The first of two infamous broadcast intrusions that occurred on Chicago television on November 22, 1987, involving an unknown person in a Max Headroom mask. This one in particular happened on WGN Channel 9 during the Nine O'Clock News, specifically in the middle of a sports report recapping a football match between the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions.
The interruption was a little over half a minute long and consisted of the impostor Max bobbing around while a loud buzzing noise played (perhaps his sound recording equipment wasn't working properly). Eventually the station was able to get control of the broadcast back.
