Описание: Gun drama unfolded in Kisumu in the early hours of March 11 after Democracy for Citizens Party patron and Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Irungu Nyakera claimed he was forced to fire warning shots into the air when more than 100 alleged goons stormed his hotel at the Lake Basin Development Mall.

Nyakera says the attackers assaulted staff, tied up a female security guard, and destroyed property during the raid. He also claims he called the area OCS for backup but assistance did not arrive in time.

The former Principal Secretary has further linked the incident to political intimidation, alleging that a senior government official ordered that he should not operate in a government-owned building due to his affiliation with the opposition.

However, the government has not responded to the claims, and the allegations regarding involvement of a senior PS have not been independently verified.

This comes just days after Nyakera criticized recent demolitions along Thika Superhighway, accusing the government of harming traders while promising to modernize Nairobi.
