Sacramento deputy killed while driving to work in weather-related crash
One man is dead following a weather-related crash in South Sacramento that happened near Pleasant Point Road and Franklin Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, wet road conditions caused the driver to lose control, cross into oncoming traffic, and crash into a pole. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Deputy James Caravallo, who was on his way to work at the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center. Officials say he served with the Sheriff’s Office for 19 years.
