Описание: Along the coastal stretches of Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala, education does not always move in a straight line. For many children growing up in fishing communities, school can be fragile — interrupted by livelihood pressures and limited institutional support.

Nasmina is the founder of iLAB (Innovation Laboratory), a grassroots initiative working within coastal communities in Payyanakkal, Calicut. Over the years, she has built community learning spaces that support first-generation learners, prevent school dropouts, and engage closely with families to ensure children remain connected to education.

In this film, Nasmina speaks about the marginalisation faced by coastal community children, the subtle barriers that push them out of opportunity, and why change requires working at both the educational and livelihood level. She reflects on the patience required to build trust, and the importance of staying consistent.

Beyond programmes and projects, she shares a larger dream — of building a community where children grow into professionals, hold dignified jobs, and live stable, decent lives without having to leave their identity or roots behind.

Beyond academics, this is also about rebuilding confidence, reshaping expectations, and strengthening opportunity where it is most vulnerable.

This is a film about education — not as a system alone, but as a form of quiet social restructuring.
