Once they had crossed through the Red Sea on dry ground the Israelites had a series of trials and challenges that left them wondering if God was going to leave them to die in the desert. But God heard their pleadings for food and in one of the best known stories in the bible, manna rained down from heaven to feed the Israelites every day for 40 years. But what was Manna really?
