We’re jumping into the tutorial for Wild West Pioneers, a survival-colony sim that feels like a modernized, high-stakes Oregon Trail.

🛠️ Settling the Heart of the Town
Developed by the Polish team at EmpireCraft Studios (the crew behind Aztecs: The Last Sun) and published by Toplitz Productions, this game tasks us with building a frontier hub from the ground up. We start with a humble Town Hall and immediately dive into the logistics of survival: managing aquifers for water, hunting local game, and setting up a wood production chain that won't leave our pioneers sleeping on the bare dirt—though, as we saw today, they'll do it if they have to!

🔫 Lawmen, Outlaws, and AI
As a pioneer leader, you aren't just placing buildings; you’re managing a living settlement. We've already had to send out scouting expeditions to find a lost caravan and reunite Glenn with his wife, Margaret. I also want to be fully transparent: the devs are using generative AI for placeholder voiceovers, music, and character portraits. While the "bones" of the city builder are solid, we're keeping an eye on how these elements evolve toward the final release.

🌾 Survival of the Grittiest
From building our first tents to satisfying the oddly specific whims of our settlers (white picket fences in the desert, anyone?), we’re seeing if we can turn a few wagons into a thriving legacy. It’s a hard-boiled world where the supply chain—from the hunter’s cabin to the butcher—is the only thing keeping us from becoming bleached bones in the sun.
