Europe’s first parking garage partly built with old wind turbine blades is now officially open in Lund, Sweden. A total of 57 dismantled rotor blades from our former Nørre Økse Sø wind farm were used to form large sections of the façade, giving new purpose to sturdy materials that are hard to recycle.
The garage has 365 spaces, 40 charging points, solar panels and an energy storage system, and shows how repurposing can be part of practical urban solutions.
This project reflects our approach to circularity. Our goal is that by 2030, all wind turbine blades we dismantle will be reused, refurbished repurposed or recycled.
