'Spider Baby' is a film from 1967 directed by Jack Hill, starring Lon Cheney, Jr as Bruno, Sid Haig as Ralph, Jill Banner as Virginia, Beverly Washburn as Elizabeth and Carol Omhart as Emily Howe. It's about a rare disease that only afflicts the Merrye family, causing them to regress backwards to a state of infancy. I'm not sure why Virginia is obsessed with spiders, acts like one and occasionally eats them, but I adore this weird and wonderful little film.
I've been wanting to do a video edit to its own theme song for a while now. I used the original song by Ronald Stein and sung by Lon Cheney Jr. then the amazing Fantomas cover sung by Mike Patton from 'The Director's Cut' (one of my all time favorite CDs).
