Toady we open up a classic Western Electric model 500 and adjust the bias spring to make the ringer happy with the lower ringing voltage of modern voip devices, pbx systems, and similar equipment. These newer technologies work fine with modern phones with electronic ringers, but these old electro-mechanical ringers need a little help sometimes to work as they should.
