Disney drops effort to block wrongful death lawsuit over Disney+ contract

A husband is now able to proceed with the original lawsuit he filed against Disney when his wife died of an allergic reaction after eating at a restaurant located on a Disney resort.
Disney initially argued the case should go to arbitration instead of a jury trial because the man signed up for a free trial of Disney+ streaming service years ago.
A provision in the Disney Plus contract requires users to arbitrate all disputes with the company. However, Disney is now reversing course and has waived that this case will proceed to court.
