Gone are the days of the Yellow Pages being a company's only print marketing provider. Advanced messaging and call center features abound, whereas just 30 years ago phones were not mobile and answering machines ruled after-hours lead collection and customer service. Computers have aided the ease of use concerning data exchange, graphic design, file sharing, messaging and sooo much more. Harnessing the power of what's available to promote your company has never been easier.

When it comes to marketing and branding, almost anyone can do it. The big, big problem is getting someone to spend actual time doing it! Without too much complication, websites can be built using Wordpress, a theme or theme builder and a few plugins, with search engine optimization (SEO) baked right in. Claim your Google Business Page (place page)!!! Fill it full of important and pertinent info, operating hours, keywords and photos - and ask every single customer to leave a review. Your Google Place is the most important page for your business on the web, period. Create social media profiles for your business on (at least) facebook, instagram, linkedin and twitter ( X ), and be sure to create handles that are similar across all social platforms. Consistently posting to your social pages is important, so be sure to post at least daily (you can't overpost so don't be shy if you've got the time and energy). Newsletters are extremely effective, and services like MailChimp and Constant Contact are very easy to use when creating and deploying newsletters. Databases for your newsletter can be created by spending time online researching your potential customers and scraping the data from websites you find from google search results. And don't forget who owns YouTube! Google loves their child and they work hard to promote videos in search. YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world (behind mama Google of course), so don't miss out on the exposure your brand can get from videos. Videos tend to take the top spot when it comes to being promoted by a search engine or social platform, and they can be used on your website as well as used regularly as marketing / remarketing content.

At the end of the day, regardless of the mixture of marketing types you employ to advertise your company, remember this: marketing campaigns are short lived and fleeting, and they are very fluid. If something works, repeat it. If something doesn't work, don't do it again. Try it all, you never know - social media, SEO, print, radio, billboards, banners behind planes... every company has an individual niche to fill, and finding your individual best marketing practices can be a fun journey if you approach it from the right angle.
