Assalamualaikum
The six pillars of Iman (faith) in Islam are:
Belief in Allah (SWT) Belief in the angels Belief in the revealed scriptures Belief in the messengers Belief in the Last Day Belief in predestination (Qadar)
These pillars are essential for a Muslim's faith to be complete. They are interconnected, and each pillar supports the others. For example, belief in Allah leads to belief in His angels, His scriptures, and His messengers. Belief in the Last Day and predestination leads to a sense of accountability and responsibility.
Here is a brief explanation of each pillar:
Belief in Allah (SWT): This is the most important pillar of faith and the foundation of Islam. It means to believe that Allah is the only God worthy of worship, and that He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of the universe.
Belief in the angels: Angels are created beings of light who obey Allah's commands perfectly. They carry out a variety of tasks, such as conveying messages to the prophets, recording people's deeds, and protecting them from harm.
Belief in the revealed scriptures: Allah has revealed scriptures to various prophets throughout history, including the Quran, the Torah, the Psalms, and the Gospel. Muslims believe that these scriptures are the word of Allah and contain guidance for mankind.
Belief in the messengers: Allah has sent messengers to all nations to guide them to the straight path. Muslims believe that all of the prophets and messengers were truthful and trustworthy, and that they conveyed the message of Allah accurately.
Belief in the Last Day: Muslims believe that there will be a Day of Judgment when all people will be resurrected and judged by Allah for their deeds in this world. Those who have faith and good deeds will be rewarded with Paradise, while those who have disbelief and bad deeds will be punished with Hellfire.
Belief in predestination (Qadar): Muslims believe that Allah has predestined everything that will happen, but that this does not mean that people do not have free will. Allah has given people the ability to choose between good and evil, and they will be held accountable for their choices on the Day of Judgment.
Muslims are encouraged to learn more about the six pillars of Iman and to strive to strengthen their faith in each one. This can be done through studying the Quran and Hadith, reflecting on the meaning of the pillars, and making supplications to Allah for guidance and assistance.
