Lycopene is a red pigmented carotenoid found in a wide variety of fruits and vegetables that has promising health benefits in humans due to its antioxidant capabilities. Lycopene has been shown to have possible health benefits in the following: reduction of prostate enlargement, reduced risk of some cancers, and some animal model evidence of reduced incidences of other chronic health conditions. In this lesson, we discuss a large list of dietary sources of lycopene, and also the possible health benefits of lycopene.

NOTE: Much of the evidence presented in this video is from animal models and may not be applicable to humans. This video is for EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.
