Join me for some relaxing fiber spinning on my spinning wheel . I share my experience handspinninig this luxurious alpaca and silk fiber I have anticipated working with for two years!
If you know how to spin wool, but have struggled with how to spin silk or alpaca (or a mix), you might find some tips in this video as I will be spinning from the fold. I also showcase how I hold my hands for those of you who, like me, need a light grip to go easy on their joints.
I cannot get over how soft, silky and shiny this fiber is and am very hopeful it will turn out to be a beautiful handspun yarn.
Spinning from the fold can give a bit of a halo, so if that is not something you want, this is not for you.
