Discover The Beauty Of Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve In Queensland's Sunshine coast

Описание: It's our first full day bon the Sunshine Coast and today we drive to the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve. It's a 36 km trip into the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

The reserve sits at 420m elevation and commands spectacular views of the Sunshine Coast and Glass House mountains.

We enter through a modern and well appointed visitors centre. Entry is free but a gold coin donation is appreciated (AUD $1 or $2). There is a well defined loop path the has a few steps. For the mobility impaired an alternate shorter path does not have any stairs. It takes around 1 1/2 hours to walk through the reserve.

There are so many bird species at the reserve. I especially liked the Green Catbird and Eastern Whipbird calls. We even got to see a Pademelon or Rainforest Wallaby close up!

We finished. out walk only to discover that both Jo and Simon were attached by leeches! I bet this was more than Simon had signed up for before he left London to visit us!

We drove back to the hotel and had a rest. This was followed by a walk along Mooloolaba's rocky beach. We cooled off with a refreshing Ale at a beachside bar.

A fantastic day on the Sunshine Coast.
