KAALI DAL
INGREDIENTS
1 cup of black dal soaked for 8 hours
¼ cup channa dal soaked for a few hours
1 slight large onion finely chopped
1 large tomato finely chopped
1 tsp ginger and garlic paste
1 tbsp chilli powder
Salt to taste
For the tadka
¼ cup ghee
1” ginger julienned
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 tbsp tomato puree
METHOD:
i. Boil the soaked dals along with all the ingredients mentioned except the salt and then once the dals are cooked
ii. Remove in a cooking pot and keep boiling till the starch is released and the dal is turning creamy
iii. Then add the salt and give it a ghee temper with julienned ginger, cumin and tomato puree and serve
