Tens of millions of Americans prepared for a big winter storm on Sunday, which is predicted to bring the lowest temperatures and the most snow to some areas of the nation in over ten years.
As the storm, which was fueled by a polar vortex, continued eastward after hitting the central United States, states of emergency were issued in Kansas, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Virginia. The National Weather Service also warned of deadly cold and slippery weather in southern areas including Florida and Mississippi.
