When an Ovary Torses, it is usually due to a cyst that is growing on it. When the ovarian pedicle twists on itself, that's cutting off blood supply to the ovary.
If a woman is undergoing torsion, the most common symptoms are:

😩 pain that can come and go or stay constant
😩 nausea and vomiting
😩 sometimes fever

An ovarian torsion is a surgical emergency and if suspected, the patient must go to the operating room. The ovary can be untwisted and the ovary can be saved. It is very rare that the entire ovary must be removed.
