5 years after the events of Pokemon X and Y; the city of Lumiose City is, not only rebuilding but, in the process of a large scale redevelopment process. In an effort to for humans to live harmoniously with Pokemon the urban redevelopment plan is underway developing "wild zones" where wild Pokemon can be free. Meanwhile the city also engages in the Z-A Battle Royale. A city wide tournament where every night areas are designated as battle zones for trainers to face each other and climb the ranks to become the Champion at rank A.

We've come to the city for a nice vacation, but things seem to take a quick and drastic turn as rouge mega-evolved Pokemon begin popping up over the city. It's up to us and our friends to uncover the mystery and see if we can put an end to it.
