Описание:
Upper Ceredo (“Ceredo Alta”) is a climbing crag located on the slopes of the Lessini Mountains, just north of Verona.
Here’s a brief description:
Rock type & style: High-quality limestone (“calcareous sinter”), with a mix of vertical and overhanging walls.
Difficulty range: Routes go from around 5c up to 8c.
Character: Compared to the classic steep “power” routes in the lower sectors, Ceredo Alta is less overhung and more “filigree” or technical, suited for climbers who prefer finesse over brute strength.
Height: The walls are about 30 meters tall.
Orientation & season: Faces roughly East–Southeast, which helps avoid the hottest sun in summer afternoons; good in winter when it gets sun in the morning.
Access: The approach is relatively short — from the main parking, you walk ~300 m back along the road, then ascend via a small via ferrata-like path to reach the cliff terrace.
Character & ambiance: The area feels a bit more tranquil than the busier classic crags. It’s on private land and within the Lessinia Regional Park, so respect for nature is important.
Gear: A 70 m rope is recommended for many of the longer lines.
