On Sunday the 4th of September 2022, the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland (RPSI) ran their 'Midlander' tour between Dublin Connolly & Maynooth, the main purpose of the tour was to test 85 'Merlin' after it's repairs following it's recent failure on the previous railtour.
To start the day of 85 'Merlin' proceeded to run light engine between Dublin Connolly & Clonsilla to test weather or not it was fit to haul the train later on that afternoon.
After the tests Retro 071 hauled the Inchicore - Connolly Craven Transfer before 85 'Merlin' would take over duties for the day.
