Описание: Today, my wonderful viewers, we look at the first ever Antipope, and the only Antipope to ever reconcile himself to the Catholic Church and be named a saint. St. Hippolytus of Rome fought the 3rd-century heresy Modalism which taught a heretical doctrine regarding the Holy Trinity. Stung by the softer approach of the popes he served, he would denounce the successor of St. Peter, declare himself the so-called "true Bishop of Rome," and would lead an antichurch through the reign of several popes. At the end of his life, working in the penal colony of Castiadas on Sardinia alongside the true pope, PSt. Pontus (Pontian), St. Hippolytus would reconcile himself to the Catholic Church, renounce his false papacy, and become the only antipope ever to be declared a saint by the Apostolic Church.
