HTTP Connection: Persistent & Non-Persistent
In computer networks, HTTP connection defines how a client (browser) and server exchange data.
Non-Persistent HTTP:
For every object (HTML, image, CSS, etc.), a new TCP connection is established. Each request/response cycle needs separate connection setup and termination. This increases overhead and delay.
Persistent HTTP:
A single TCP connection is kept open for multiple requests and responses. All objects of a web page are transferred using the same connection, reducing RTT delay and improving performance.
👉 In short: Persistent HTTP is faster and more efficient than Non-Persistent HTTP.
