With a staggering 1,279 parkrunners turning up for this first-ever event, the atmosphere was electric—and the start line? Absolute chaos! 😲🔥

After last week’s planned soft launch was cancelled due to storms and ice, the secret was out. The rescheduled inaugural event exploded in popularity, creating one of the busiest parkruns ever. Expect a frantic start, slippery grass, long finish-line queues, and plenty of unforgettable moments.

Despite being the smallest runner out there, Isabelle fearlessly darted through gaps her dad couldn’t, navigating slick grass that caught out many others. Once reunited, dad and Isabelle powered around this ginormous single-lap parkrun, soaking up the incredible energy of the crowd.

🎉 This run marks Isabelle’s 149th parkrun and her 22nd unique event!

🌊 Fun Facts About the Course

The parkrun loops around Regatta Lake, a 2km man-made lake purpose-built for international rowing and canoeing events.

The venue has hosted Olympic and World Championship water sports competitions.

Its flat, fast paths are ideal for PBs—but as this video shows, grass + crowds = extra challenge!

With open views and wide paths, it’s one of the most scenic parkrun locations in the UK.
