Michael and Mrs. Afton learned about William’s plans early on after a girl (not Elizabeth) went missing at CBPW. Michael cancelled the prank due to the possible dangers of the animatronics (actually, another tormentor suggested it and he explained why they shouldn’t do it. In my AU they completely trust each other). Anyway, Michael became a lawyer since he didn’t trust anyone else with the case and got William imprisoned. So now William’s in jail and the family lived happily ever after.
