The glamour girl who lounges on yachts during the day and spends evenings in strapless silk gowns, has ruled the catwalk at Gianfranco Ferre's Spring and Summer fashion collections in Milan.
Ferre, who says the ideal woman is bored with business suits,
launched his models in billowy white organza blouses with stiff,
pointed collars and rhinestone-studded hot-pants. The show was packed with dramatic, angular, theatrical clothing. Models wore black leather hotpants with tight black ribbed sweaters and body-hugging suits in bright colours made from stretchy fabrics. Some pranced down in short, transparent, black organza worn over black silk hotpants. Patch pockets were strategically placed in front of the dresses. Other models wore white trenchcoats made from wisps of sheer white cotton that skimmed the thighs and were pinched at the waist with transparent vinyl belts. Navy blue wide-bottomed trousers that rode low on the hips were paired with cropped white blouses. Evening wear was stunning. Long transparent skirts paired with white waistcoats with open backs. Ferre, who is also the chief designer for Dior in Paris, is one of seven fashion gurus to have been touched by an investigation into alleged bribes to tax police. His collection ended Milan's six-day Spring and Summer fashion shows for 1995.
