Aquatic habitat and ecology of a Crocodile River headwater stream

Описание: This is footage from the Buffelskloofspruit, a headwater tributary of the Crocodile River (East) in Mpumalanga, South Africa.

In November 2023 I went searching for interesting aquatic fauna in the Schoemanskloof area. On this trip I found Kneria sp. South Africa, a yet to be described Kneria species previously thought to be Kneria auriculata. Along with this interesting fish were golden Enteromius cf. anoplus and bronze Enteromius neefi. Rheophillic fish were then also found in the fast flowing currents and included Chiloglanis pretoriae and Amphilius cf. uranoscopus.
