"Lots of you have been asking why we're tracing in EyeWire if the computer already knows the shape of neurons.

The AI is really good at the easy part -- that's why sometimes you get big chunks when you fill in a missing piece; however, sometimes it's harder to connect the right pieces. That's where you come in.

You can look at the data in a way that the AI cannot. You can see the whole of the 3D view and decide whether it looks right or not. You can look at the 2D view and decide whether it flows smoothly. Sometimes, it won't be clear what the right answer is. that's why we trust your judgement over that of a machine any day.

So get out there and apply your superior human brain to EyeWire"
