The Ford F-150 Lightning is a much more traditional truck, honestly it’s just like any other F-150 in the past however it’s electric and better in every way. It has all the features that any F-150 truck lover want’s and expects as well as it’s now Electric and can now even power your home. That’s right the higher end model has a power inverter that can use the Truck as a battery pack to power your home for days according to Ford. Now the F-150 was announced in May 2021 and in the first 48 hours, they were able to get 44,500 reservations.

The Cybertruck Starts at 39,900 dollars and goes up to 69,900 dollars
The F-150 Lightning starts at the same price range at 39,974 dollars and goes up all the way to 90,400 dollars.

Like mentioned before, the Rivian is the most expensive base model Truck on this list with the starting price set at 67,500 dollars and the higher end model starts at 73,000 dollars and could be upgraded some more to get to around 83,000 dollars.

Now all three of these machines are just going to blow you away with performance. No matter which one you go with it will beat any other truck on the market when it comes to performance. It’s just a fact, electric instant tork is the future and if you think gasoline truck’s are better your just in denial. These trucks will go 0-60 in less than 4.5 seconds and be able to handle any load you throw at them. So let’s talk about the elephant in the room.

The Cybertruck has a range of 250+ miles for the base model and the Tri Motor version will have a whopping range of over 500+ miles. Now this will be due to the new 4860 battery cells which will give the company’s EV batteries five times more energy capacity, make them six times more powerful. I expect the base models for the Cybertruck to be closer to 300+ miles when they start shipping out fo the Texas gigafactory.

Ok so let’s talk Ford Lightning. It’s range is a bit more confusion. They announced it with the base model getting 230 miles and the second and third tier models at 300 miles whoever that is with a 1000 pounds of cargo.

The Rivian has the best range options in my opinion. I would love for Ford and Tesla to do this. Pay for more range no matter what matter you pick. Both Rivian trucks can either have 300 miles range or pay 10,000 dollars for 400 miles.

Now the newest announced electric truck the Ford F-150 Lighting, will be released to the wild in Spring of 2022.

Now I was in the market for a truck I would need to ask myself, WHAT DO I NEED IT FOR. If I don’t want to attract a lot of attention and love my current ICE truck I might lean towards the impressive F150 lightening.

It’s my biggest surprise on this list when it comes to how serious that Ford is about it. We are finally seeing a big traditional vehicle company be serious about making a fantastic electronic truck. I mean the amount of features on this truck is so impressive. Massive front trunk that can hold two full golf bags, a ridiculous amount of outlets for your tools. One of the outlet even outputs 240 volts!!! Oh yeah and it can power your house. I will be honest I didn’t expect Ford to come out swinging like this with there first Electric version of the most popular vehicle in the world. Good for them and good for the world we live it. I hope more people hear about it and switch to EV for it.

I am someone that love’s attention and never own a truck before. I also love tech. So if I personally had to buy a truck in the next year…. Yes yes I would still go with the Cybertruck. It’s a beast and it’s also very and i mean very unique looking. Still not sure if I can call it beautiful so I will stick with Unique. Haha.

One massive advantage the Cybertruck has at the moment and for the foreseeable future is the Tesla Supercharging network. They are everywhere at this point and going long distance in your 500+ miles of range will be…. Well a breeze.

At the end of the day I am hopping for more EV’s on the roads and less and less ICE cars making our world a better place for my kids.
