LUSTRUM is a five-year programme of research funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) under its Programme Grants for Applied Research (Reference Number RP-PG-0614-20009) which ran from 2016-2021.
The programme was led by Professor Claudia Estcourt, from Central & North West London NHS Trust and University College London.
LUSTRUM aimed to improve the sexual health of heterosexual people and men who have sex with men (MSM). A central part of the programme was a randomised controlled trial of a new form of partner notification, Accelerated Partner Therapy.
This video describes the work leading up to the trial, the key trial findings and recommendations for future research concerning partner notification.
