Assam Flood Response 2021

Описание: The state of #Assam, perennially prone to #floods, faced several phases of floods in 2021 as well, while still going through the #Covid19 pandemic. HAI intervened in 10 villages of Majuli and Jorhat with funding support from HCL Foundation. The project villages also face the constant threat of soil erosion and consequently displacement and asset loss. To understand the root causes, HAI conducted a morphological study also using drones and satellite imageries of the past to study the evolution of the risk pattern and accordingly plan a long-term strategy.

#HAI followed a comprehensive strategy, so that while providing relief and early recovery support, investment could also be made on mitigation and building resilience of the vulnerable communities. HAI is thankful to NEADS for providing unground support.
