MY FLOAT FISHING SET UP IN THIS VIDEO:
ROD: Berkley Lightning Rod 8'6" Trolling Rod - Medium Heavy, Lure: 1/2- 1 1/2 oz., Line 10-20lb
You may like a Medium action 10' 6" rod better, since that is where I started and all my other rods are this longer length as well.

REEL: Bass Pro Shops® Johnny Morris® CarbonLite Baitcast Reel.

LINE: Power Pro Braided Line 20 Lb. White. You can run a top shot of fluorocarbon if desired in very clear water conditions attached to the braid. Then place your float on the fluorocarbon.

WEIGHT: Lead 3/4 ounce sliding egg sinker. Below the sinker I place a bead to prevent knot damage. Tie braided line to a barrel swivel. The Leader will attach to the swivel.

FLOAT: 25 Gram DNE Foam Float in Green or Grey color with an orange indicator top. Above and below the float I place a small bead followed by Three Rubber Line Stops that hold the float at whatever depth you would like.

LEADER: Seaguar STS Trout/Steelhead Fluorocarbon Leader Fishing Line 17 lb. when there are chinook or chum around. If you are just after coho I usually use 12 lb. Fluorocarbon leader. I pre tie my leader with Egg Loop Knot and approx 20 inches of length. Leaders tied 18" to 24" should be effective for you. Little longer in clear water 24" and Shorter down to 14" in cloudy water.
