A new era of public transport is coming to Rawalpindi! 🚍 The Punjab government has announced the launch of 80 Green Electric Buses that will officially start operations by mid-October 2025. Covering 10 new routes over 86 kilometers, this modern eco-friendly transport system will connect Rawalpindi directly with Islamabad’s transport network, making travel easier and cleaner for the people of twin cities.

The project includes a brand-new bus depot on Peshawar Road, built on 28 kanals of land with the capacity to accommodate 100 buses. This initiative is part of Punjab’s Annual Development Programme 2025–26 and reflects the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who aims to reduce pollution, provide safe and affordable travel, and modernize urban transport across Punjab.
