Описание: It is expected if you celebrate Christmas with young ones, that you will eventually be asked the question of whether Santa Claus is real.
What might be slightly less expected was the question my young niece recently asked, which was 'are reindeer real'? You can understand why this question would get asked and why it could actually become quite confusing. It's confusing because while we inevitably expect to have to explain the legend of Santa Claus, we also may need to explain that reindeer actually exist and then having to juxtapose that which is mythology with something that is absolutely very real.
There are different terms that are used to describe this, but one of the most common is called 'magical realism' where realistic and fantastical elements are woven together, creating a world where real and imaginary coexist. I explained as best I could that reindeer are a real animal, part of the deer family and mostly found in arctic climate regions.
It was being asked this question that sparked the idea for creating this video of 5 unique majestic reindeer each very much set in a magically realistic setting. The snow falling adds to the dimensionality and mood while the Christmas music in the background makes this an ideal feast for the holiday senses.
