Florida couple arrested after reckless driving - Passenger tries to pull driver from police

Описание: Pinellas County, Florida – On May 7, 2025, police conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle driving recklessly at an estimated speed of 90 mph in a 30 mph zone. The vehicle pulled into a residential driveway, where the passenger exited and began yelling at officers, claiming the residence was hers.
Officers advised both occupants that they were being detained for a traffic stop and were not free to leave. During the encounter, both the driver and passenger displayed signs of impairment. As officers attempted to speak with the driver, the passenger physically grabbed him and began pulling him away from the investigation.
The passenger was arrested for obstruction. A DUI investigation was conducted on the driver, who initially participated in standardized field sobriety exercises but refused to continue partway through. The driver was arrested and charged with third DUI within ten years, reckless driving, driving while license revoked (habitual), and refusal to submit to testing.

This incident was captured on police body camera footage.
