Striking an Arc With TIG Lincoln Ranger 225

In today's TIG Tuesday, I will be covering Striking an arc With a scratch start TIG rig on a Lincoln Ranger 225. my goal of this series is to help you get better at tig welding. In this series i show and will be focusing for the time bein on scratch start tig welding and how a scratch start tig rig works because I believe that a scratch start tig rig is how to get better at tig welding. I will be showing tig tips and tricks in this series.

with a scratch start tig rig you can learn tig welding without a tig machine, so if you want to learn to tig weld and you dont have a tig machine this is a way to learn how to tig weld and decide if it is worth the investment of a tig machine. In this video i show running the scratch start tig rig off of my lincoln ranger 225 mobile welding rig which can run scratch start tig.

I start off showing my machine and how I have my leads hooked up on my machine along with the amperage i use with this welder.
, i go on to show the different methods of striking an arc with scratch start TIG, along with the different methods of welding with it. I start with showing the basic scratch start method with dabbing the filler metal, and then show how to strike and light and arc by the filler metal swipe method, followed by floating the torch, and a little walking the cup at the end!!!
